Why it is in the news

On 30 September 2026, Justice Amit Mahajan of the Delhi High Court dismissed W.P.(C) 5740/2026, filed by a Turkmenistan national who was turned back at Indira Gandhi International Airport on 25 March 2026 despite holding a valid business visa issued by the Indian Embassy in Ashgabat. The court held that there is no inherent or legally enforceable right of a foreign national to seek entry into India, relying on the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
